Why I'm not playing shows as much lately and other stuff - 05/31/2007

The reason for the lack of shows is due to two things. One, lately, all my energy has been put forth in doing a film score (my first, hurrah!) for Boston film maker Miranda Elmorsi's short documentary Fail Better Farm. The music is almost finished, but I am still unsure about the opening title sequence, which is really important, as you can imagine, in helping draw the potential viewer into the action. I imagine I'll do a limited edition CDR of the score, once it's finished and recorded.
Another reason is that I am sort of tired of just playing in Georgia. My life dictates that i stay close, so until I can remedy this, I have decided to play less in town, that way I'm not oversaturating my "home market".

There is a new release I'm featured on, the new Jades Of asia Cd "Don't Like It, Go Home", hich you can purchase by going to my merch section and following the link.
I'll also be featured on the Athfest 2007 compilation on a track by the Lovenotes Family, the final Tommy Valentine project before he retired from making music. It's essentially a rap song, and very different from my standard fare, but I loved doing it.
I also have one CD of solo stuff in the can (has been for two years!) that I'll release soon and another CD of radically reworked Bob Dylan songs that hopefully will be recorded by the end of the year.

Also I must persuade each and every one of you out there to pick up Chip McKenzie's new CD "Car Crash on Your Couch", his collection of songs recorded before he really got his shit together. It has the same resonance upon listening to it that Jack Logan's "Bulk" had on me years ago. You all know now what he's capable of, having heard his band Still Small Voice & The Joyful Noise. If you haven't gotten out to hear them yet, you're just a fool, ot just plain lazy, or maybe a combination of both. It's available on Emerald City Ruins Records, which is also the home of the mighty Rorshak, whose next record I am awaiting with much impatience.
