Athfest 2007 - 06/25/2007
Well, was that a fun weekend or what? A great Echo Canyon show, Still Small Voice rockin' the main stage, Cinemechanica blowin' the lid off the 40 Watt, Nic Goodson cryin' like a "titty baby" when Sleepy Horses won their award, Rorshak from Deaf Judges finally getting some respect in town when they captured the Rap/R&B flag. Topping it all off was my unscheduled guest appearance with the Drive-By Truckers on "People Who Died". I don't get to play "blazing" rock guitar very often!
As always Athens at Athfest is a complete blast from start to finish. Everybody's trying to see everyone else, and seeing the band you just saw at their gig an hour previous at your gig solidifies the community aspect of the enterprise. It's a beautiful thing.
To all who played, organized, volunteered, mixed sound, served beer or food, worked the door somewhere, or just took it all in and rocked the fuck out this weekend, I salute you!
